What does an executive resume writer do?

CPRWs are the career industry's leading experts in the development of strategic resumes. Certification is earned by passing a rigorous exam and meeting the highest standards of the resume industry. As many as 50% of resume writers fail this exam on their first attempt. Deborah was one of the first CPRWs in southeast Michigan. She served on the PARW/CC Certification Committee for eight years.

How is an executive resume different?

An executive resume must do more than document career history. An executive resume has is less about execution and more about strategy. This is why it isn’t enough to “refresh” your old resume. It needs to communicate leadership scope, business impact, strategic thinking, and readiness for the level ahead—while making a complex career easy for recruiters and decision-makers to understand.

Will my resume work with ATS?

Yes! Deborah develops your resume with both applicant tracking systems and human readers in mind. Keywords, structure, and formatting are handled strategically without sacrificing strong writing, executive-level presentation, or readability.

Can a resume with graphics work with ATS?

Yes! A well-designed resume can include graphics and still be ATS compatible – if the document is built correctly. Deborah designs all of her resumes with ATS requirements in mind, so visual presentation and technology compatibility do not have to be an either/or choice. Not everyone needs a high design resume. Deborah also creates traditional, classic style resumes, and can advise you on which is right for you.

Do I work directly with Deborah?

Yes. Every client works directly with Deborah Schuster throughout the process—from strategy and consultation through writing and revisions. Your work is never handed off to a subcontractor or junior writer.

What happens during the resume-writing process?

The process begins with an in-depth review of your background, accomplishments, goals, and target opportunities. Through questionnaires and a one-on-one deep dive consultation, Deborah gathers the information needed to develop a resume that reflects both where you have been and where you want to go next.
